Saudi Ministry of Hajj Officials Visit Gambia Hajj Mission Office in Makkah.

Makkah, Saudi Arabia – May 28, 2025 — The National Hajj Commission of The Gambia is pleased to inform the public—particularly the families and communities who have entrusted us with the responsibility of facilitating the Hajj journey for their loved ones—that Gambian pilgrims are in excellent care and under the most capable hands during this year’s pilgrimage.

Earlier today, officials from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah paid an important visit to the Gambia Hajj Mission Office in Makkah. This visit, led by high-ranking Saudi representatives, was conducted to assess the readiness of the Gambia Hajj Mission in delivering efficient, timely, and high-quality services to Gambian pilgrims ahead of the major Hajj rites.

The delegation was warmly received by the head of the Gambian Hajj Mission, Sheikh Ebrahim Jarjue, and his team of dedicated officials. The engagement centered around strengthening operational collaboration between both parties, ensuring that the sacred pilgrimage for all Gambian nationals is smooth, safe, and spiritually fulfilling.

We are proud to report that the Saudi officials commended the Gambia Hajj Mission for its professionalism and preparedness. The mission has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, with all logistical, medical, and administrative arrangements well in place.

Medical and Welfare Services Ready

The visiting delegation was given a comprehensive tour of the mission’s facilities, including direct interactions with our medical personnel and inspection of ambulance services. The medical team, which comprises experienced doctors and nurses, is on standby 24/7 to ensure that pilgrims receive routine health checks, timely medical attention, and any necessary medication throughout their stay.

This proactive health support system underscores our dedication to safeguarding the well-being of every Gambian pilgrim as they perform their spiritual duties.

Spiritual Milestones and Upcoming Journey to Mina

At present, all Gambian pilgrims are in the Holy City of Makkah after spending spiritually enriching days in Madinah. There, they had the opportunity to visit revered Islamic sites such as the Rawdah, Masjid Quba, Masjid Qiblatain, and Mount Uhud, where they offered prayers for their families, loved ones, and The Gambia. These sacred visits also allowed pilgrims to reflect, worship, and connect deeply with their faith.

Preparations are now actively underway for the next major phase of the pilgrimage—the journey to Mina, also known as the City of Tents. This leg of the Hajj marks a critical moment in the pilgrim’s journey, where they will engage in symbolic rituals including the Stoning of the Devil (Jamrat).

All necessary transportation arrangements have been finalized. Buses designated for the Gambian delegation have been inspected and approved by licensed service providers in coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, ensuring safe and timely movement from Makkah to Mina.

Continued Collaboration and Commitment

The National Hajj Commission of The Gambia remains fully committed to cooperating with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all authorized service providers. We are continuously working to uphold the highest standards of service, safety, and religious facilitation, ensuring that every pilgrim completes their Hajj without hindrance or delay.

We understand the deep emotional and spiritual significance that this journey holds for families back home. As such, we reassure the Gambian public that your loved ones are in the hands of professionals who are not only highly trained but also spiritually motivated to serve.

We call on all Gambians to keep our pilgrims in their prayers and to join us in praying for continued peace, prosperity, and divine blessings for our beloved nation.
